5,8GHz Image Download from space

Profesor Tanaka  JA6AVG  spúšťa experiment pre rádioamatérsku verejnosť. Ide o možnosť príjmu obrazových dát na frekvencii 5,8GHz. Ak máte záujem a potrebné vybavenie, kontaktujte profesora Tanaka s presným predikovaným časom preletu ponad vaše územie.

Prof Tanaka say:

We will start 5.8GHz transmission experiments of your place.
Please advice the best time for the transmission and also your
latitude and longitude. In the north hemisphere, south path will
be good. As the 5.8GHz patch antenna always faces to the magnetic
north, south hemisphere may be difficult.

The 5.8 GHz signal consists of 128 byte packet. One packet
continues 12 msec on 115.2kbps. Between packets, there is a 8 msec
blank (only carrier, non-modulated) which is the time for reading
memory. So the packets are iterated with 20 msec (12msec + 8 msec).
Therefore, FM-detector generates 50 Hz sound (1/20msec).

NIWAKA sends 20 pictures at a time around 2 to 3 min. There is
a 5 sec interval (no 5.8 GHz signal) between pictures because of
heat problem of final IC. One picture is sent within 2-6 sec.
If the picture is only black space, it takes less than 2 sec.

We do not have received the whole 20 pictures. We appreciate if you
could receive those pictures. Broken pictures by error data shows
at least more two pictures took ISS.

Receiving 5.8GHz is not so easy, we also appreciate the report
of just receiving the signal.
